Five Fashion Trends to Try in 2019

New year, newer trends. If you’re not quite ready to let go of 2018 fashion yet, have no fear; most of the past year’s trends are here to stay (including animal print, fanny packs, and basically anything 80’s). Keep reading for 5 that will rule the fashion world in 2019.

Coral

Step aside, lavender; there’s a new shade in the spotlight. Once Pantone announced Living Coral as its color of 2019, our minds went wild with ideas on how to incorporate this vibrant hue into our wardrobes. Whether you want to lend a bold splash of color to your winter wear or complement summer with a tropical punch, coral reigns supreme for 2019.

Fringe

Deriving from both Western and flapper influence, fringe is still in for the new year. A fun way to (literally!) shake up your formal style, try a fringe cocktail dress for an upcoming wedding or work event. No further accessories needed.

80’s Fashion

Puffed shoulders, pops of neon, and mini skirts are still all the rage for 2019, making it the perfect time to travel back to this maximalist era. Go all in by incorporating all 3 into one look, or ease into the 80’s with just one detail, like a ruffled neckline.

Sequins

We hesitate to call this a trend since sequins are basically a staple at this point. Once reserved for nightly affairs, this dazzling embellishment has slowly shifted into the sunlight. Dazzle from dawn to dusk in a full sequin mini (so 80’s) or dial down the intensity with bits of sequin detailing on the bodice or skirt.

Pajama-Inspired Dress

The 80’s might be hosting the party next year, but this 90’s trend still scored an invite. To keep a slip dress out of bedroom territory, look for a fitted silhouette in a dark or rich jewel tone, and elevate it with heels, a fur shawl, and a sleek hairstyle (no bedhead allowed!)
